i can honestly say not that much, just a few exhaust tickets and a few front plate tickets.

one of them would have been really really bad, but they didnt catch me so im good [Eek!]

I can't even extrapolate that.

Car accidents for driving too fast with no ins. as a youngster. 17K+

Multiple tickets. $???

suspended licences. $???

court fees. $???

towing cost. $???

storage cost. $???

maintance and repairs. $???

Lost of income due to driving record. $???

Too much money but it was all worth it.

I have had over 40 tickets with my Mustang since 1989, these are just the ones I could remember, my old plate said "14CHP2C" and cops hated it, I got pulled over at least once a week. I dont really want to try to add the money up.

18- tinted window tickets
1- moving violation ticket for too many tinted window tickets by the same CHP officer
10- regular speeding tickets
6- no front plate tickets
1- stop sign ticket
1- for 115mph plus
1- for street racing plus went to Santa Rita for the night
1- for DUI
1- for modified vehicle too low
1- for too loud-REF ticket

I've paid 1 ticket, for "unsafe starting or stopping" when I chirped 2nd and 3rd in front of a motorcycle cop getting on the freeway. Whoops.

so $180, in the past 5 years.

Spent on car since owned, could have bought a 93 cobra.

Spent on tickets since owned, could have bought nice new s-trim.

Time spent away from wife work on it in the garage, priceless.

front plate in the window advertises that you don't have a front plate to the cops.

No, not at all. Read this from the California Vehicle Code. Always go there for all of your questions. Or you can find it online and Google it!!

5200 CVC - When two license plates are issued by the DMV for a vehicle, they shall be attached to the vehicle for which they were issued, one in the front and the other in the rear.

5201 CVC - License plates shall at all times be securely fastened to the vehicle for which they are issued so as to prevent the plates from swinging and shall be mounted in a position to be clearly visible, and shall be maintained in a condition so as to be clearly legible. The front license plate shall be mounted not more than 60 inches from the ground.

Thanks guys!!! I don't see what the big reason is anyways about front plates but it is what it is!! I think they use that just 2 pull you over & check to see if you have any thing else going on!!!!

Hey N8, that's quite a record you got there. What happened to the stereotypical pull over the black guy for know reason at all routine. Did you have any of those? Scariest one I ever had was "Licence, registration, proof of insurance and as a matter of fact.....I think I'm taking you to jail". Instantly shit my pants!!!! [Eek!]

I've been to Jail twice over my car. Both times really wasn't my fault.

1st time was really just a domestic violence issue, it just so happen there was two mustangs involved and I got to spend the night jail for exihibition of speed.

2nd time was a DMV error, I was in ATL and got pulled over for speeding and lic. came back suspended. Under GA law, out of state lic. "Go directly to Jail" do not pass go. Spent the weekend in there. Had to have my CO get me out.

I have been pulled over, and even harassed but never for a moving violation. Not saying I am goodie 2 shoes. Just luck y I guess. But I never was a reckless one anyway. I value life too much. Plus I am handsome. So I figure why drive fast so the ladies can't get a good look at me. [Razz]

someone should start another thread about "how much has fixing up your stang gotten you into debt or drained your bank account?"

Posted by bottled95GT?? (Member # 1772) on :

WOW ok lets see... and this is with a BAD memory. (2002) bought myself a present at 18yrs old + 89 5.0 and 02GT = trouble
1-82mph -$375
1-95+mph -~500 (traffic school)
1-115+mph reduced to 85+ if i didnt fight. ~400
1-"at fault accident" that cost me not only my 2002GT, but 3 years of fucked up insurance with no stang.
2005-present
(import) 1-80+mph ~350, chp was a dick... he just got on the freeway, i even saw him getting on ahead of me, and he pulled me over, never paced or was using radar. Said he "eyed" it... thank god he hadnt seen me 3 mins earlier doing 110 [burnout] traffic school, +$120 [Mad]
1-81mph on san mateo bridge ON lidar- fought and won (amazing what learning the law can help you do)
1- "crossing a divide" aka merging over painted lines to early on the freeway to avoid glass from an earlier accident while rolling around on drag radials" - Fought and won, again.

Cant even count the times ive been pulled over, funniest one ever was in moraga.
Went flying around a somewhat blind corner doing triple the limit (75 in a 25) with a officer pointing radar right at me. Was testing new suspension. Went about another 1/4 mile and pulled over and waited for him, by the time he got there i already had the usual shit ready. Pulls over and goes "do you know why i pulled you over" [Confused] [Confused] must be routine cuz i said "actually you didnt pull me over, i stopped and waited" [Big Grin] He didnt like that, "i can throw you in jail smart ass for speeding like that, whats the hurry"
Im trying out new suspension and the track is too far, you want a ride???
"slow it down and dont let me catch you again" [Eek!]
