How many of you believe something is going to happen on Dec. 21st 2012? Its the date the Mayan end of the world prophecy is supposed to come about.

It mentions sunspots, its kinda weird that a month ago there was no sunspots on the sun for an entire month.

i think we're entering another iceage. History has shown that when there is little to no sunspots on the sun the earth goes into a rapid cooling or mini-ice age.

I guess if you read into all these things, I personally like Nostradamus, it really wont matter much. If anything like this ever happens theres no way to prepare for it nor anything one can do about it.

My wife's sister is seriously buying into that 2012 business. I read somewhere about that Mayan timetable and basically it is being mis-interpreted. I will see if I can find the link. It was pretty interesting.

I know one thing. A good safety net is to make sure that you are right with God before then. If it does go all bad, I am sure I got me a spot in heaven.

Mayan's also belived that by sacrafising people to the sun god by cutting of thier heads would help thier crops grow. that didnt work out for them very well neither will this end of the world crap.

on what fastback said about the ice age thing. i think that is true also. i watched a discovery channel special that said we are in between ice ages.

The only thing I'd be concerned about is some of these radical religious freaks actually looking to push this and or make it happen. Many of those people want to die to get there 40 virgins in heaven (LMAO)so those jerkoffs are probably planning this shit to come true. That's my 2 cents

I grew up going to church...the church I went to was a judgemental popularity contest so my taste for "church" is sour. Religion is cool, believe whatever you want because for all anyone knows you might be right. Who is one person to say to another if they are right or wrong, when it comes down to it there is not one person on this planet that knows.

I like science because it's more factual. You can see it calculate it and predict some of it. It's hard for me to believe in burning bushes and 700 year old men building boats that carry just two animals of each sex. You know how much inbreeding that is? And there are millions and millions of people that DO believe that. Which is fine...I don't think your crazy or wrong but if I were to tell you God spoke to me last night when I was brushing my teeth and said to me to go walk in the desert for some whatever decades and I took off to the desert,...then you'd think I was off my friggin rocker.

So why is that?

The first "bible" written was hundreds of years after the said facts (maybe not hundreds but generations at the least). Every play the game telephone? Sit a bunch of people around a table and the first person whispers something in the next persons ear, that person whispers what they heard to the person next to them, and so on till they get to the last person and the last person says out loud what the first person said. Its always fucked off. Now times that by generations and generations and tell me how much of the bible is accurate? No one has ever told a story and made it sound better than it really was? I'm not trying to preech anything I'm just saying...

Do I think there was Jesus? Yes. Do I think he fed hundreds of people with some kids lunch of 2 fish and a few bread rolls? No. Do I think he died on the Cross? Yes. Do I think a whale swallowed Jonah? No. I still say grace and pray with my kids...so you tell me what I am? People ask me what religion I am....fuck I don't know. Ask me if I belive...Believe in what? A greater being? Sure. A God? Sure. So you tell me.

The world was supposed to end numerous times and it hasnt idk why these ppl keep thinking the world is gonna end. Ancient civilizations believed in alot of superstition and things that were not real, same with these prophecys theyre NOT REAL! Nostedomus made what they call GOOD GEUSSING and not only that there are 1000's of prophecys that dont come true but when one does everybody flips out. Well what about the ones that didnt come true, nobody said nething about those! I swear ppl are fucking retarded these days.

Nostradamus was not a prophet or a good guesser, all he did was write a book like the bible. People took a good story and ran with it, they have to use mathematical equations to even call it a coincidence.
The 2012 theory was brought in to the light by the music band Incubus. I dont know much about it but i do believe that if it was going to be huge, people would be freaking out right now. I havnt seen any news cast about it or anyone talking about it but i could be mistaken, but for now its a long way away.

The Mayans couldn't predict the end of their own civilization with the arrival of the Spaniards 600 years prior to 2012, so why would I put any faith into them knowing exactly when the world would end?

I dont believe in the 2012 thing.I heard about the sunspots though,kinda scary.And i do belive we are heading into some enviornnmental change,i dont think its all our fault,we may be accelerating it though.But face it,our planets dying,all planets do,its natural.The core cools,the tectonic plates stop moving,the magnetic field goes away,then our atmosphere slowly bleeds off into space.All completely natural though.Nothing lasts forever,not even the universe will.Our planet will end up like Mars(which i think used to be like Earth at one time).Cold and dead.I think humans missed the Earths heyday.When the dinosaurs were here was the Earths peak,oxygen in our atmosphere was much higher,everything was greener and the Earth could support huge animals.It cant do that anymore.But dont worry,well never see the end.But it will come.Sleep tight,LOL.

I heard a prediction a year ago that the next decade is supposed to be colder than this one. i wonder if 2012 is when "The Day After Tomorrow" happens. Dec 21st is the beginning of winter. So if something happens on Dec 21st 2012 the Mayans would be right.
