I'm in the same boat, just graduated this May with a BS in IT, took an awesome job April 1st with a video game company doing sys admin work, pay is lower than I want, I plan to be here for 6months - 1year and then jump up to a higher paying position with a better job title.


it feels good to have an awesome job right out of school though, some of my friends from school don't

I cracked 100+ at about 26, but 5 kids and a wife got me back down to poverty level.

Thanks, believe it or not, i graduated from Heald College but that college to me was a waste of time and money! I learned just the terminology and basic operations. Everything i learned was going to interviews for IT positions for the first time and not getting the positions.. Which pushed me to learn and learn..

During the 6 interview process, they didn't ask me anything about my degree. I took 3 tests, one was for Networking terms, basic configurations. The second test was little bit of Web Development stuff (html, css, cgi, php) and 3rd one was my knowledge of operating systems.

Everyone else, thanks !!!! Most of you on here remember me when i first started on Cafords with the whole "thuglife" image hahaha good ol' days!!

I will be settling down this year and engagement should be coming up early next year after i purchase my first home in the Bay Area (Hayward/San Bruno/SSF).

I will be inviting each one of the members on here myself with a formal invitation card!!

Congrats man... This time last year we were sitting in Advanced Networking class sending Netsend messages lol didn't know a year later we will be sitting at a pay rate like this. I am glad we took the right path and finished college. I will see you in Vegas.

I'm almost there but need a couple more years. Still blue collar but I can't work an office job because of my back/legs. Probably be bored anyways.
