The city manager Mr. Tanner makes over $300k while Fairfield's makes sub $200k.

The Fire + Police unions tried to take paycuts and negotiations since they take 74% of the City's yearly fund but talks faltered.

Your opinions?

better make sure that you are current on everything while rolling through vallejo. quick way to get revenue is giving out lots of tickets.

Now Vallejo has a certain stigmatizm. Future investors of all types will be afraid to invest in vallejo.

The worst thing the city could have done imo.

ive read that if you take out all the people, take out all the buildings/houses, that vallejo has teh best climate and weather of the bay area. sucks that it's financially fucked lol

I'd have to agree with that.

I think the most logical thing for Vallejo at this point would for the city itself be absorbed/annexed by another nearby large city that could help pick up the financial burden. The most likely & logical choice would be Fairfield IMO.

One thing that might help extremely is for Vallejo's public safety departments (Fire & Police) to merge into a DPS (department of public safety). Cops are cross trained as firefighters and vice versa. Sunnyvale and Rohnert Park both use this program very well and it serves the community extremely well both financially and safety wise.
