Gentleman. When working on your cars, are there any gimmicky tools you've bought and regretted? We all get suckered into buying them.
Lets get a list going so we know what to watch out for. First on my list are universal dog bone wrenches
You can't get them into tight spaces. The handles are too short to get a lot of torque on them. They are very slow to remove a bolt unless you can access the bolt at a 90 degree angle and use the handle as a screwdriver. A ratcheting box end wrench set is much more useful.
What is a gimmicky tool you regret buying? Maybe someone can make an opposite post about tools actually worth buying.

I regret ever buying cheap tools.
Now one thing I came to like a lot are ratcheting wrenches. I also like my tool organizers for my rolling toolbox, makes finding all my tools easier and can figure out right away which ones are missing. Magnet metal trays are handy too!

I am told impact swivel sockets are the only ones to use for high torque applications. Anyone use them? They have a black oxide finish instead of chrome.

Are O2 sensor sockets with the slit for he wire down the side any good? Any advantage over a 15" adjustable wrench?
