Bought a used 393w stroker kit and pistons have scratches on sides from getting dirt or something in oil..was told the can be fixed and recoated..

Has anyone ever had this done? Worth it or new custom pistons.. Pistons are for inline head.. i planned to us a trickflow 205 11r so should have plenty of ptv clearance..

Got kit for $800

393w forged scat crank, eagle h rods..cant remember pistons brand..18cc dish..going for 10.5 compression N/A

Dirt can't easily scratch metal. Can you feel the scratches with your finger nail? Dirt scratch will be light. If you can feel a scratch with your fingernail, it was probably metal on metal. Post up pictures of the damaged pistons. How many of them are damaged?
