Sign up, pay, and have fun! It's really that simple! Depending on which club/organization you plan to run with, you may need to get your car inspected for safety precautions, but other than that, get a helmet and just make sure your car is safe, ie: brakes, tires, etc.

No need to start modding your car for the track...run what you got and learn your car first. [patriot]

Get a helmet; sign up for an event; go.

Really the best thing if you're not too far from a track, is look at the schedule and go as a spectator. You'll be able to see how an event runs, ask questions and get some rides as a passenger. You would need to bring or borrow a helmet to get a ride. Except for NASA who charges for parking and a passenger badge (I think it's still $15), it won't cost anything.

Here's a list of a few local club websites to check out. Look at their schedule of what track and when.

I'll be at Thunderhill this Friday with a couple of friends running with Trackmasters. You're welcome to go for rides. We have extra helmets.

Steve, did you get the $99 deal for this Friday? If I weren't already signed up for NASA this Saturday I would've joined you guys at T-hill. Great deal and there's a potential of up to 7+ sessions!!!
