Because to get the average Mustang drift worthy costs money that most of the people here don't have, not to mention the skill it takes. The only successful Mustangs you see drifting are Gitten Jr. JTP. And Sarah Burgess(sp) sure Yves Faber drifts a Foxbody...in Europe and he's not in any type of profession competition. He could be, but he's not. Yes it would be dope to see more Mustangs, but look at what Stan went through to make his car semi drift worthy and how much time he's needed to become an even sub-par drifter...next to that, Wednesday night drift is all for fun, it's not competition. And even if you make it to that highly sought after level of competition, the politics behind the events are insane. I wish people the best of luck!

@ Iron50, ^ he hit on the head,Because most folks arent willing to commit their car and time and money to sorting out a mustang for drifting.Trust me I'd like to see more American stuff out there, but the truth is Nobody bats an eye at cutting up a $600 240. well....you got to rememebr that the 240's and corolla's have been well sorted since drift began its just too easy. get online and copy somebody else's build thats why folks are using those!

stans car is already set up like most peoples cars on here.stock coil springs, stock motor, stock trans, noisy gears and posi goin out, lol. the only mods he needed was to improve his steering angle, which me and Johnathon did in two days after work with stock mustangs stuff. he is no pro but has more fun than u guys sitting on home on the couch nay saying right now on the computer. any car can go out there, and so what if its not competition, its for fun!!!
competition is like saying how many cars on here pro fess road race or drag in circuit, cross country to every event? not many. but everybody occasionally hits the strip or weekend warriors it right? its just for fun. my buddy's mom sit passenger and has a blast. i haven't seen one sour puss out there yet. stans given numerous people out there rides, and every one of them has a blast
40 bucks come on out and have a blast no matter who your racing for, or just for your self, or be a passenger. it would be nice to see some more ca ford cars out there for me. gitten jr or who ever was mentioned before are big times guys. no one said that was gona jump off immediately. but they started somewhere prob just like infinion in there home town. so now to all the guys that say cant, i say can! u don't have a car running? and well prob wont burn any rubber anyways, or put any of that thousands an thousands of dollars for all this fancy suspension and brakes to handle at 200 but only drive the speed limit, enjoy yourself,s and your limited goals, and stay right where u are frowning at others while u say cant, while im watching people in buckets that are! and definitely can.
there people out in trucks laughing there ass,s off having a blast.mamas having a blast in the pass seat! girlfreinds laughing there ass,s off, people on here are running 15 in there jap cars saying they whoop mustangs, and then theres john force in his drag car, get my point?
so if u wanna have fun and enjoy your hard work, and money out of your car other than it collecting dust, tryin to be the baddest car on the street always swapping to the latest newest parts, or your also the best engine stand race type of guy, stay at home, if not come on out and drive any dam car any dam way u wish. guarantee u will have a blast. i like it and well def be enjoying it some more, if u dont have a car and wanna just be in the pass seat experience. where all, an they are all very cool and u can get in to almost any dam seat u want.

its 5 bucks to get in, and if your nice u can get a free ride in a drift car. if u wana enter your car it is 40. i think its a week or two in advance now to enter cause the sport is definitely growing.

All these people with shit tons of cash in their cars and they just keep them garaged and "hibernating." we drive mustangs...c'mon, these are SHIT cars compared to most "real" sports cars. I have an extra set of 18" wheels I just know that I night of drifting can eat up a set of tires... What gear set is best used for drifting 355s?

I wanted to pursue that dream..but that is all it was..buying a 240sx would put you miles in front of a semi built foxbody for drift..the steering angle they come with stock is sick..they don't weigh anything..grab some coilovers and a v8 swap an with a bit of skill you can work magic..but with a foxbody you have to do a fair amount of suspension to be competitive..not saying it can't be done..but for the average 9 to 5 worker it can be a little complicated..I plan to jump into one very soon..my mustang will be my boosted street car with nice paint an rims..the 240 will just be a crash dummy with a Hci 302..in a car that weighs 2700 pounds
