Helping out a friend later today work on his 89. His driver side spindle needs to be replaced. Never done one, any info on how hard it is and what to expect? What special tools are needed? Im not one to go to a shop before i attempt. Thanks cafords....

Easy stuff for you to do, remove tire , all brake components and brake dust plate. Do not remove sway bar bushing that's connected to lower controls arm unless you want to fight that spring back in. Remove bolts from lower strut to spindle, remove steering tie rod from spindle and let hang. Remove spindle nut. Use heavy Mallot and hit the lower part of spindle by spindle bolt should separate, remove replace and bolt back together.
