my engine has seen some shit and i want to make sure its ok before i get heads. if its bad then i'll get a shortblock instead, i can only afford one this summer. how should i check it?
i guess do a leakdown for the rings. do i need to pull the pan to check the bearings? i really dont want to do that, it has good oil pressure so i wonder if that is good enough. anything else i should do? thanks everyone

hey man why not just go 306 and get it done right the first time. That is what I am going to do. Let me know if you are interested, the guy is only charging me $1000. I should be picking my block up next weekend.
