No need for the popcorn, there was obviously confusion on my part for which car was shown in the picture. I just hate it when people make the mustang community look bad by shitting on a nice car just because it isn't rocking a blue oval. Arguing how much better a cobra is than a vette is useless, the vette is in a different class of cars that even the GT500 cannot touch. Supercar vs Sports Car.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a SUPERCAR, but I would rephrase Y2K 281's comment as the Vette being a sports car & the GT500 being a Muscle car.
Yes, many GT500's or Stangs in general can beat a Vette in a drag race, or can be made to go just as fast in a straight line as a Vette, but they definitely don't handle the same way without MAJOR suspension upgrades. They also aren't as aerodynamic & don't have as good of a weight distribution as a Vette.... Just stating facts...

The corvette is the American Icon of Sportscars. Its is well balanced and produces enough power to make the lightweight chassis accelerate quickly, but, no supercar by anymeans at all.

I watched Mike Maier in his old school put it down on the couple of vettes out at the good guys auto cross event. Mustangs can do the the twisties thing too..... I'd say they are more know for that then drag racing honestly.
