Topic: First Time going to the track

I've never been to the track before and I am interested in getting some quarter mile times in. My goals are to get some tack experience and also see what my car is running before I do any extensive modifications to it (motor is stock right now). What are some things I should know before heading to the track? Also, What are some of the details of going to the track? Cost? Regulations? Tires I should use? Infineon wednesday night drags are low key and good for a first time out. But they don't start up again til next March.
Anyone can race ot the saturday Summit ET events, but there tends to be a more experienced crowd.

Just check the web sites, Saturdays at Sac through the rest of the year, and on through March, will be TNT events where anyone can race for $45. I might be going up there tomorrow.. also to see what my car will run... I see you are in San Pablo, I live in Oakland.. would you be down to carpool up there? what time are you planning on leaving? I am a cheap bastard.. so I want to get there right when it starts, so I can get as many runs as possible ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

I'd like to do tommorrow up in Sac, BUT...I have no roll bar for my vert. I'm shootin' for 11's. Can I play "stupid" and say I didn't no any better, drove 6,000 miles to get here and cry like a schoolgirl....and maybe they'll feel sorry for me and let me get a run in? Or are they pretty tight about specs and shouldn't bother til I get a cage? Thanx rik

Just take it out. They will let you run.
