Been a LONG while since I've posted in Gen talk here, so some of ya'll may not know me.... Anyhow, I'm pissed that my go to, and probably the best all around affordable, great performing, and good looking street tire of all time, the BFG KDW2 are now discontinued!!! [Mad]

I have a near new set of KDW2's on my 18X9/18X10 FR500's, in a 265/35/18 up front, and 295/35/18 out back. These wheels & tires came off my new edge before I sold it years ago, but unfortunately as good as the 265 looks up front, it's just a tad too wide for a fox IMO, as it rubs pretty bad on bumps etc. Anyhow, I am looking to swap it out for a new set of 245/40/18's up front, and now I find out that almost ALL the good performance tires that I liked years ago, are now discontinued! [Frown] [Frown]

I want something in the $150-$250 per tire price range, something that grips well, looks good, and that I can get a decent amount of miles out of with no rotations. Seems the only thing decent out there in the available sizes I run are the Nitto NT555 (Had them, wasn't a HUGE fan, but they perform OK and look cool), and a few others I have yet to try... Seems our popular sizes for 17's & 18's are being taken away because most newer sports/muscle cars are coming with larger wheels as of late.

What are you guys running on your Mustang these days and how are they working out for you? Thanks in advance fellas!

The BFG G Force Sport Comp 2 look ok, and would work up front, but they don't make anything wider than 275 for the rear.

The Bridgestone RE760 come in my sizes, and although I have those on my CTS-V and they grip well, but damn they wear out fast (even with rotations) , and the sidewall isn't that great looking IMO.

I got like 20-22k miles out of a front set of KDW2's before, and I think thats pretty damn good for a tire I never rotated.

I'm gonna be changing out my Pirelli's soon for Michelin pilot super sports on my saleen. I've herd nothing but good things about them as far as grip, comfort, noise and tread wear goes.

I've ran Hankook Rs3's on my fox and the dry grip is superb.

I have had success with Dunlop Direzzas. They are on their third generation now, called the Direzza Z2 Star Specs. Good value in the 200 TW range.

I have friends who are happy with the Falken 615K's as well.

I'm getting the Michelin PSS' for my M5 when my tires wear out. They are standard equipment for them and other high end cars.

Heard good things about the Hankook rs3's too. The Goodyear eagle f1's weren't bad when I had them on my cobra. Also running them in the back of my M5 right now.

Just ordered another set of MPSS here, selling the nittos to make room, and the old set of MPSS too. Like them too much to not go back to them.

I would go MPSS. They just started producing a 295/35/18. If you wanted a stickier tire I would get some R888. If your car is pretty low, with a the right offset the R888 look so nice. They just don't last long though.

Kinda important what kind of milage you intend to get out of your tires.

You got guys diggin 300TW tires, nice for a daily but why give up the grip if it's just a weekend car?

If you like cornering, start with 200TW tires and go down in TW from there.

Thanks guys. Michelin are unfortunately out of my price range. I will look into the Dunlop and the Hankook. Never really been a fan of Nitto, but the invo look cool...

Even though it's a weekend car, I still would like to get at least 15k miles out of the tires, and I've actually gotten over 20k out of a front pair of KDW2. When my car is back on the road, no regular street tire is gonna harness the power anyway under wot, he'll even my ol' HCI setup fried the 295 rears with ease in 1st and 2nd. But yes, grip is important, I like to corner carve too.

I'm running Bridgestone Potenza RE760 sports on my 06' GTO..its my dd, they grip well in the twisties as well as off the line. Tread life and wear seems pretty fair so far.

I've narrowed my search for my tires for my Coyote Notch to the following:

1)Potenza S-04 Pole Position
2)Continental ExtremeContact DW

Fox Coupe with 94-95 spindles and 94-98 Cobra rear end.
F)255/40ZR18
R)275/35ZR18 maybe 285/35ZR18

They both have decent grip, Continental has a longer TW, and they are both on sale and reasonably priced at TireRack.com
