I am not the customer but I feel some what responsible because I recommended that he should go to dan because I've heard nothing but good things about dan.
customer issues
"after a year waiting on his motor and paid for and Dan say's when is he going to pay him...
A4 4-Bolt Race Block
new freeze plugs
bored .40 over
Forged crank
Aluminum rods
Forged pistons
heads
cam
powder coated trick flow intake 60lb injectors
Moroso deep oil pan
basically a complete turn key TURBO build
After this text customer has tried to call him multiple times but no answer from Dan yet.

I don't care what other people say about Dan, this guy seems like a shady person. We all have personal issues I get it, but don't use that as an excuse to take peoples money and not follow through on your deals.

Last year I was thinking about having turbo50 build me a turn key motor. Now I'm glad i didn't.

I would like to blame the people going to a person's house with $6K and say build me a motor. WTF are you guys thinking, go to a reputable shop and pay a little more. Trust me you will have lot less headache, and your motor on time!!!!

Not trying to get in the mix but I haven't had any returned calls myself about my two motors. I have faith and still want to believe he's a stand up guy but when someone goes MIA I start wondering. I was caught off guard when I found out he was moving. All I want is a simple text back knowing that I'm not gong to get screwed over. Like I said I know he's a stand up guy and has done a lot of nice builds for a killer price but I at least want to know what's going on with my build or my parts. Hopefully we can have something resolved soon because m starting to lose faith.

Inb4 everyone says "OMG HE WILL MAKE IT RIGHT, HE IS A GOOD GUY!!!" despite one of these threads popping up every month now.
Guy is taking so long building people's motors, He is forgetting that they are paid for already.
I hope you have a receipt for the money paid or youre pretty much out of luck.

He might have built some real nice motors in thebpast.. BUT recently ive heard about nothing but negative comments, INCLUDING from MY PERSONAL experience with him.. I followed the bandwagon n took my motor to him also.. waited almost 6 months.. n then motor broke within 2 hours bcz it wasnt torqued properly.. I would never have him touch any of my motors again, nor would I recommend him to anybody.. save the time n hassle, spend the extra couple dollars, n go to a reputable shop.. hes a great guy, dont get me wrong.. but when it comes down to business, I wouldnt do business with him everrrr again..

Just have you machine work done by a rep shop and build the engine yourself. It's not that hard and there are plenty of books and free resources online to help you along. Even the cafords tech section can help.

That is the worst advice in the world! If you don't know what you are doing then do not attempt building a shortblock by yourself! But most machine shops charge about. $250-350 to assemble the block. I personally do my own but I'm not gonna say everyone should go try it. It will end up costing them more in the long run!

I did not know he moved. He told me he was going to move in a few months. I need to get in contact with him today to see if I can either get all my parts and money he has of mine or a motor I been also waiting for over a year too. This is the only reason why my car isn't done because I've been waiting also I already have my suspension and fuel system done just need to drop it in and tune.
