all you have to do is add a blower to the mustang or a turbo it will eat up the zl1. i would mutch rather have the stang

Ouch, lap times don't lie. But, the camaro has a huge advantage in power to weight ratio. That doesn't just add up to the .4 on the straight like the video says. Every corner exit equals more time the camaro is gaining. Kind of a stupid test, equalize the power to weight and then see what happens. That will tell you which chassis really is better.

word is the new 2013 gt500 is faster than the laguna seca boss at most tracks, so that should be a good comparison for the zl1 [Smile]

I read that comparison the other day and knew about it several months back. It is by far the worst example of irresponsible automotive journalism I have ever encountered. Had this run across my desk I would have sent the contributor packing. Completely irrelevant comparison and reeks of pandering to an already faltering Camaro image. (Then again, why am I not surprised.) The Boss (5.0 Mustang in general,too) has already proven itself in the court of public opinion in terms of styling and has solidified a place in automotive history on the merit of an established SCCA record and Formuls D pedigree going back to 2005.

In layman's terms...
Fucking stupidest test comparison ever.

It didn't do bad, this is why people use 140HP Miatas and keep up with cars with twice as much power in autocross.

The mustang was 400LB's underweight, the GT500 is going to be as heavy, if not heavier than the ZL1.

OH, Just throw a supercharger on the mustang! (no shit, they are already doing that...)

I highly doubt that Chevy will allow their zl1 to run against the gt500 cause they don't want Ford to put them to shame... Their car wouldn't stand a chance even they they're running a 6.2 against a 5.8! Ford FTW!

Yeah that's what i was thinking. How do they compare a supercharged with a non supercharged car and test it to see who's faster. Mustang with no blower still kept up and is right behind. so I'll give it to the Shelby which I highly doubt they would do because it would put Chevy in a bad spot and would ruin their hopes to keep up with ford.

Not a chance. The new GT500 is a good 300 pounds lighter than the ZL1. It weighs in around 3800.
