I wanted to check out a car a few years ago, the guy didn't want to show me the car unless he came to my house with it "for his safety". I instantly thought that was shifty, I finally got him to agree to meet me at a grocery store a few miles away from my house and he didn't show up. This whole hiding keys thing never came to my mind but I'm fairly thorough when I check out cars and they'd have to hide them really well for me not to find em.

I dont know if my bro NEIGHT is speaking the truth about 73ondubs. I have personaly not met dude or know him.I keep my 86 coupe 351 in my drive way blocked off. I have only driven my car a couple of times since i had it (5years) because i dont want my shit to get stolen.14k invested would make me murder someone.
I did have my 92 special edition stolen in 2003 twice. It was recovered once in redwood city and the second time in east palo alto stripped.

Maybe this is a silly question, but if you just sold a guy a car and were intending to steal the car back (or have someone do it for you), why not just keep the spare pair of keys in your pocket instead of tying them to the car?
