+1! I have come across many members on this board that I wouldn't give a second thought about purchasing a used item from... Don't let one bad experience ruin it for you. Good luck with this situation!

the transmission was pulled out of my ex girlfriends car. the guy i bought the car from had said it was rebuilt with a shiftkit. worked fine before it was sold to him. he told me he drove the tranny for 2 weeks then it took a shit. how is this my fault? i've sold many parts on here and this is the first complaint.

im not siding at all, its fucked the trans went bad! but used trans do have a shelve life of around a couple years depending how it was stored, and how condensation was with it. and ive asked a couple people that ive sold stuff to, to hear how things went later also, just to hear they where happy, also another reason i sold it to them for cheap.and to openly complain about a deal 2 years ago on here is unprofessional or seams a bit unfair, if that was a case i,ve got a bunch of stories about cats on here that sold me some junk that i didn't notice till years later , and i payed top dollar for those items, unlike in this case. its sucks the trans went out, but it did drive good at first right? any signs that it was going out? any slippage starting? now ive had a trans got out on me for some of my own mistakes before, like not removing the pilot bearing out of the crankshaft that ran a manual trans, when i was sticking a torque converter in it,s place, witch at the time i didn't know would put unwanted variable pressure on the oil pump of the auto tranny, and well also put shavings in the trans fluid. i did that 2 times, and seen 3 other times, all lasted 2 days to a week, depending on the driver.did or does the motor still have a pilot bearing?was the car stored outside in the weather were condensation could attack in thos 2 years? and to have this guy banned, or ruin his business dealings on here as well. i would understand if he had priors, or a history of this kind of business or behavior <by the way i do not know either way if he does>. i would then understand and back your intention,s. good luck either way, 150 bucks 2 years later, is a lot better than some of my stories i could tell on here with some of these folks that still roam, or run some of these parts, that strait was caught in solid lies, and sold strait broken junk.

this trans was mounted up to a motor and sitting is car. there were many other things to be done but the trans was new fluids , new converter and front seals from us before being attached to motor. its all good we put another in and it did ok. so it was nothing on our part. prior to use trans was tagged and bagged. this is nothing new to my crew and only bad parts was the one from this guy. but again its over dont expect money cause he dont have it anyway. its all good and will be taken care of.

so the motor does not have a pilot bearing in it? and the radiator trans cooler was flushed, or at least was blown out with clean air before installed? ive seen radiators coolers clogged before , will do everything u mentioned. and the pilot bearing will do what u mentioned also.and everything else was new? converter came with the trans? when i get a trans with a converter, i check the condition of the fluid in the converter, that will tell a lot right there, how was the fluid in the converter of the trans u bought? im just trying to narrow down the variables that i could see also cause your problems, so your attacks on this guy hold more meaning with me, cause i hate shady people to,

I got you! I'm over it! I took care of the guy who bought the car from me and its over. I just dont want him selling anything on here. My shop is all in door. Trans was bagged for a couple months then oil , conveter and seal changed. was then installed and mounted to motor. car was no where near completion. car would be started up to run engine and keep the new fluids moving. like i said this is nothing new i have sold plenty of cars and parts on here. i just got in and seen this. dude aint got nothing to worry about hes safe. lol

I can for the trans being in nothing less than perfect working order, the car it came out of was in great shape, map light worked, ash tray door worked and every thing was stock except flows, shorties, and a shift kit. The car belonged to his girl, he bought it from a guy that had everything professionally installed, headers cost the guy 700 parts and installation. Lol...
His girl had the car for 3 months or so I dont remember exactly, it was her baby. But sadly she wrecked the front end and was devastated. The car was driven about 10 miles back to the house on it's own power. mechanically the car was sound, but cosmetically the car was done. I actually used the motor in my car to smog it and rocked it around for 4 months, the motor was in impressive shape, I took it to the track once with my 5 speed, headers, pullies, hf cats, full weight and 355 gears I got a 13.9 at 101 on street tires. So if the trans was in the same fresh working unmolested condition than I am sure you were just the victim of the notoriously ticking time bomb reputation of a ford 5l aod mustang transmission. Pm me if you feel necessary but I know he was not out to screw you. And as for the constant contact with you.. That's just the kind of guy he is. He probably wanted to hear how happy you were about you getting a great deal on a sweet lil aod. But unfortunately that was not the outcome..
