I am kinda sad your putting the Mercury tail lights on, i think the original 67-68 tail lights are the sexiest things ever.

<<< I can always go back, replacement tail panels are cheap, and I'm not demolishing the existing panel either.
Personally I think the tail lights I'm using ...smooth lenses without the bars on the frames, are awesome, I've always liked them.

<<<no worries, I didn't take it that way at all.
Anyone have a chance to look at the "tin soldier" link above? I'm curious what people think of the color.

That sucks that it's just sitting what are your plans for interior you could start on that while it sits have the seats done install carpet your self and take the door panels off and send them to be done it would be that much closer as it sits still waiting to be painted

<<<I'm saving every penny for the exterior. I'm going basically stock on the interior. Also in-case I need to choose a corresponding interior color parchment, ivy, black, or? I'm going to hold off. If I have the cash I will be buying all the deluxe dash panels and gauges, etc.

<<<Lookin good for this week. The paint/body shop is supposed to get rolling on it by Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm having them fit up all the fiberglass and everything. These guys do a great job and I'm really very happy to have them do my car. [ August 02, 2010, 04:09 AM: Message edited by: bwkelley76 ]

Ghost stripes (lemans) with either a clear-black or a darker shade of green and a black gt500 stripe on bottom

Just a recap on the color.
Desert sage metallic (2006+Lexus) It's a medium green with gold metallic. I'd say it's a new spin on the '67 Ivy gold but a few shades darker. Thinking about subtle ghost lemans stripes and the same effect on the GT500 stripes at the lower rockers. The car is also getting 18" wheels in the front and 20's in the rear. ..The wheels weren't my original choice but they were custom made for a '67 Mustang by Billet Specialties and I got a great deal on them from a friend. ..So I figured what the heck I'll give them a shot! They looked GREAT on his '67 convertible. The paint and wheels and tires will be the only real "MOD" to the car. Otherwise it will be a very close replica to the original GT500.
Here's a Honda S2000 painted the Lexus color. This has to be the best shade of green I've ever seen.

Body Shop is doing a great job, I paid them a visit today. The font end is almost all the way on now. The lower scoops are fitted now. They reconstructed the outer roof lines and tied the front and rear together (previously gone from factory lead). They usually vanish completely, sag, ripple or bulge right in front of the upper vents/scoops. I've seen some nice paint jobs where they just left it that way. (YUCK)

I love that green color. What if you did a light siver for the stripes? Maybe the wheels the same silver?

It might work but I also don't want it to look like and Andes mint. lol I was thinking either no stripes at all, or maybe the same light gold as are on the '67 Shelby emblems. (very light, almost beige in color) I'm still on the fence though. I'm having a tough time "tying" it all together. I have the emblems, the lower gt500 decals and stripes to contend with. If I mess up the contrast between any of the above I screw it all up!

I didn't go with any of that, i also deleted the emblems on the sides and only left the MUSTANG on the trunk lip and then put my own Cobra emblem in the grill. If your going to go with that stuff i think black or silver would look good with that color. What size motor is in it by the way?

<<< 351W, true 4v 10.7 compression motor from a '69 Mach. Cam, demon carb, and exhaust. Should be pushin just under 400hp when I'm done with it. Nothing too wild but a good streeter for sure.
