Sucks compared to what?
Agree about much harsher sanctions on "cheaters".
Sucks compared to sports where fat ass managers and coaches dont wear a uniform like the players?

You call that a reason why it sucks? Coaches wear a uniform because they're on the field of play. Managers....?? Still beats the hell out of wearing a coat and tie to a sporting event.
But you still haven't given a real reason or a comparison to a sport you don't think sucks.

point taken. I didn't give specifics because obviously "sucks" is subjective, and this is my opinion. I like the sport, I hate what the media, the commissioners, and some of the players have done to it. It's antiquated... 160 meaningless games... terrible tv ratings...teams that buy championships... over paid players doping up.

Now that I can accept. We're all entitled to personal opinions, I just like to see what they're based on. And thank you for a respectful response. There are things I don't like about the sport as well, but there are far more that I love about it.

I will hopefully resume my normal position as a Dodger hater with Barry on the sidelines.

But then the A.L. came to Oakland.....so ever since then it's been the Oakland A's...... I was a beer vendor from 1968-75. (A's, Giants, 49ers and Raiders.....worked all the world series games in the early 70's. Awesome!! ). Season ticket holder from 1981-2002. Had to give them up however to take care of my mom. She was well known at the park...the players used to call her "Mom". I was at .B.P. one day after she got sick and Tejada asked me where "Mom" was. I told him she was sick and wouldn't be coming to many more games. When the team came out just before game time Miggy called me down to the fence and gave me a ball. On the sweet spot it says "Get Well Mom" and is signed by 18 players. That did more good than all the medications she was taking. What a class act that was by those guys.
I still make it to games but on a day to day basis. Maybe I'll run into some of you sometime.
My back room is my baseball room. Filled with balls, bats, memorabilia, photos and over 100,000 cards.
Nice story! Too bad stuff like that doesn't make it in the news.
I remember back in T-Ball, Dave Stewart bought us team jackets with our name and number on them. We looked like some badass 6 & 7 year olds when we came to the park . The he invited a few of us to come on to the field before the game and get introduced. I remember turning around just so I could see myself on the big screen...lol.
Bip Roberts came out one time when I was 16 to hit us some infield and give us some pointers. I thought it was pretty cool for him to take time out like that. He said I had good hands...it was nice to hear that from a pro ballplayer
Dusty Baker took some time and had a few of us go to the batting cages with him. He was a real nice guy and very helpful. One of the guys ended up being his waiter at a restaraunt years later. He thanked Dusty for his time, who remembered taking us there. Afterwards, he left him a pretty nice tip.
What those guys do for the fans goes a long ways....I definately appreciate it still.
