Nice clean laps dude. 1:55 is pretty good with a passenger. So why don't come join us in NASA time trials? Adding a little competition to a track day makes it way more fun and you have the opportunity to win free Hoosiers which really helps offset the cost of this crazy hobby.

Oh and what's your setup? tires?

Stock Cobra PBR calipers with aggressive pads of course. Stock 305 hp Cobra motor with long tubes, Hoosier R6 tires, and of course Griggs suspension. The camera was done by Vision Wells in HD and they did a great job and set it all up for me done by GPS. Thanks for the all the compliments and yes I am up for time trials because I am a little bored

Hey SF Coupe. Do you know of any shops around here that can build a car to spec for NASA?

Posted by SteveL (Member # 1241) on :

Which spec? AI, AIX, CMC, CMC 2?

9cobra7 sfcoupe I will see you guys out there soon I just aquired a new track car so now I'm in the process of trying to sell your old car SFcoupe however it now has a new 306 with a new tranny. Here is a pic of my new track car. It's Griggs with custom aero R6's cage, halon system.

Wow, nice seen that car many times at the track. That's John's car huh, did he get something else or is he giving up the sport?

As far as the other post above, Griggs builds cages and Maier Racing may build a spec cage too. Maier did my Street car cage and did a great job and Griggs just knows everything about tracking so check those two out for starters.

Wow small world you know John too. His business isn't going well and can't afford it anymore right now. He wanted to only sell the car to someone he knew so it worked out well.

As for an example of a maier cage. This was a previous car I had which I had to sell in a divorce.

That sucks to hear that, very nice guy and the whole Wienerdog crew. Hope he gets back into it when the time comes around again. If you don't mind what did you pick that thing up for? It looks freshened up a bit and I love Dave's design on those front end fascias, awesome! BTW that cage is like a perfectly executed spider web and the full weld in Subs....tits. Obviously Mike knows his mustangs

Besides Griggs and Maier, talk to Tony at TC Design and Rick Freeman (510 728-1110) up in Hayward.

First thing is go over the general NASA cage requirements and the CMC additions. There are some design options that will impact cost and weight.

Very nice, can't wait to check that thing out in person. I hope the old coupe goes to another good owner.

90gtvert, you can't go wrong with any of the three companies suggested. Just be sure to bring the rules with you and discuss them with the builder before the cage is built. I'm having Maier convert my six point roll bar into a NASA legal cage for Super Touring 2 next year.
