Fellow Mustang drivers, racers, lovers. I need your help! I'm on the brink of recieving some pretty good and very NEEDED sponsorships from a couple of very cool Mustang related companies. What they want to see first is how many Mustang drivers/owners ACTUALLY go and or compete in drift competitions. Please tell any and all Mustang folks of this survey, and feel free to comment. I cant give out too many details, but I will say I am building 2 Fox body cars to compete in the entire Formula D season. Spread the word, and please post here!

There are actually quite a few D1 Domestic competitors including Rhyes Millen (GTO) who is the #1 guy, the Gush (Toyo Mustang, a Viper, and a few other Mustangs including a 05 Saleen.

D1 is the Japanese "superbowl" of drifting. That series is a Japanese series that only stops in the US about twice a year. Formula D is the US series that tours the entire US. Its a fully televised series (on G4 TV) and is hugely successful series. This series actually has only been won by an import ONLY once by my good buddy Calvin Wan, who won at our home track at Sears Point in his G35. Other than that, its usually Rhyss in his GTO, Samuel in his Viper, or Ken Gushi in his factory Ford Mustang. True those are all new cars, but the series is now gaining more older domestics. There is a couple or hill billies runnin an old El Camino from Texas, a guy running a early 90s firebird, Falken now has the tube chassis big block 69 Camaro, and Griggs Racing even entered one of their 5.0 Mustangs.

True there are not many events here up north, but there are some. The big series (like Formula D and D1) are so big, they have to run at full Nascar tracks like irwindale and California speedway) There are however, smaller local events constantly. Drift Day is a association based in CA that runs events up and down CA. They even have events at Golden Gate Fields in Berkeley, and Candlestick park. The Falken drift showoff was just held at Golden Gate fields in October where I competed in my Mustang, and made top 8. I was the only domestic competeing. check out the demo video on my site, http://dpracing.org/driftpatrol.html

Hi Dan...

It's Scott Fraser, it was cool to see we both made it on ESPN2.

Hopefully I'll have something better to drift next time out.

Later

Yeah, I actually missed it! Did you happen to record it? Or know someone who has a copy?

Posted by alwaysracin (Member # 5204) on :

I have about 1/3 of it on the DVR. Thats about it. I have a friend that put it on his camera. I'll try to get you a copy as soon as I get one.

Later,
Scott
