I'm thinking about heading over for the event at the end of June. The events are a blast, definitely worth the drive.

I think the last real cannonball run was in 1979. The modern (and legal) version of that event is the Car and Driver one Lap of America.

Acutally they still have the cannonball, it's called the gumball rally.
