For those of you who like to Auto-X. The American Auto-X series is about to start this weekend. The series is Held in Atwater, CA just 5-miles North of Merced. The price is $35.00 for 5 runs and they are typically fast Auto-X courses.

You drive that blue 68 right? Looks real clean but ive never actually seen you run it atleast not last year. I race the 91 GT in fstock. Hope to see you at the races.

I Do race the 68 GT, but not out in Atwater. Only at the SCCA SFR events in the Bay Area. I race my dads CP Camaro at the Atwater events. Go to Maier Racing web page. Under Customers rides look for Jesus Villarreal. That's the one i'll be in.

We brought it out to the very last AAS event in 03'. We just finished it. So far we've ran both of the SCCA SFR events at Oakland and will be out in Atwater Rain or Shine this weekend.
Hope you get the car together for this weekend!

If you had big enough balls to actually show up to a AAX event you would know that somoeone goes and techs all the cars
They wont allow you to tech your own car

yeah, sorry Jay... You can't run without the tech god looking over your car completely. Besides, these aren't your average Auto-x course. Third gear, 90-100mph+ straights with Drifters are common at an AAS event. That is if your car has the power and can handle.
The series was originated by a guy, my Uncle in Spirit, Larry Park. He was tired of "BS" SCCA courses that where tight and slow. Plus he was an old Trans-Am guy so he had a desire for speed. thus American Auto-X was started back in the early 90's.
Just some history for yah..

i will go one of these days. i love driving my fastback. but going 2 hours at 12 mpg, plus hotel, plus all the other shit. it gets up there in cost.
the candlestick events are fun for me because it takes me 5 minutes, and everyone jocks my car.
i'll go sometime soon.
joel...you ever get your camaro running?

yeah.. Finally put everything back together and it's running good. We finished it about 3 weeks ago, after a 4 month engine swap, but it's all back together. We broke an AC line, so i don't have any cool air but I got a few cold months left to fix that! Can't even hear the cam !!!!
