I have a 1966 mustang that my grandpa and I rebuilt from the ground up. We have the old "original" radio that had been replaced once. You could tell by the writing on the top that it was from a junkyard.the speakers and wires are all hooked up, it is just the stereo that doesn't work. Is there any way of fixing this? Or do I just bite the bullet on an auto sound?

Google "vintage car radio repair." Lots of places that are dedicated to repairing and restoring old car radios. But it's generally not cheap. So unless you were doing a concours restoration, I'd just get a radio from a place like Custom Autosound.

Hey 05s197,

Are you trying to keep originality? if not, then why not go with a newer setup? I have bluetooth in my 67, granted you cant hear anything over the exhaust. It is kinda neat to brag about it. [patriot]

I changed out the customautosound for this retro sound unit. Bluetooth is cool. You can make calls too if your engine is quiet enough.
