So the other day i noticed a knocking sound coming from underneath the car, almost sounds like a rod knock but its pretty quiet and doesnt change tone as i drive.

i took the car home and pulled the tranny, because i thought it couldve been a broken flywheel, but it seems to be fine, normal wear... teeth are all there and the face seems to be fine. I replaced the clutch about 25k ago along with the TOB and pilot bearing, since I have it apart im replacing all but the clutch and pressure plate again.

what could be making that noise? cats coming apart on the inside? input shaft? i dont think a TOB or pilot bearing would do that though... if anyone has any suggestions please chime in!

thanks,
brandon

Like u said maybe cats I've had a few go I wouldn't necessarily say its like a rod knock tho just more of a constant slight rattle but when I got under the car and started it I could definitely tell where the noise was from...good luck

thanks! i have a magnaflow x pipe if it matters. It does sound more like a knock though rather than a rattle.

I had a rattle noise for some time and it was the gasket on the passenger side that goes between the headers and the mid pipe. That could be an issue too if you haven't solved it
