I've been searching for a while but can't get enough info on it. I have a 93 Cobra booster and master ready to go. Just need a little advise before I start

ive seen one article on this they mentioned putting one in on a brake install but left out the details like if it was a direct install or if anything had to be drilled out or cut to make it fit. wondering the same thing
i believe a member here was doing a brake install and was having some issues with this step this was about 6months or more back trying to find the post

That's what I can't find either. From what I've been looking at back and forth on both cars, it looks like three booster studs will go through the holes and I will have to drill the fourth hole to fit. I'm still waiting for the WD-40 to penatrate the rust on the remaining nuts on the cougar and Ill start install soon. One thing I noticed was the master has a port underneath and it's for the driver caliper.I was going to cap that and use the side ports the rear for the front brakes and the front for the rear

I've been all over the forums even that one. People have very little info on the details. I get the jist of most of it but my main concern would be that the original booster has a spacer type thing between the firewall and booster. I'll just try it and see what happens. I'll update this thread once I get it going. This is very important so I'll take pics of the process for the next person that wants to try it out

the fox booster's arm is way too long.....it will work if you willing to modify parts on every step of installation (firewall holes, brake pedal pin)
just spend a little more for the original booster (auto parts store) and spacer(ebay). (maybe a pedal; depends on the setup)
original style = less trial and error

How long is too long because I would prefer the pedal to be a little higher than what its at now

Please just buy the correct parts that I need never go cheap on safety items.

Im not trying to be cheap. I want to pretty much upgrade since I already have to fix it. I have already done a hydro swap in a fox and I had to drill holes for the studs. I don't see why "safety" should be an issue at that point. Im also trying to install the coilover setup and cobra brakes. Im not the type of person thatll give into just throwing in stock original parts just because itll be easy. MacGyver over here hahaha

You can buy upgrade parts that will fit your application an they will function the way there suppose to work.

I'm not trying to spend thousands on stuff I already have and can work with. More than likely it'll work with a little help from the good ol brain. If not fuck it I can say I tried it and it doesn't work.

when i attempted it...the pedal was around 2 or more inches higher then stock.
bring your knee to your chest to apply the brakes LOL.
i attempted it because I had the fox parts laying around....
its like a 100+ for the correct stock 68 booster (bendix)
the spacer was from ebay for around 20-25.
my 68 was an original manual drum/drum car...had to drill out (1) hole on the firewall to mount the factory stuff and open up the area for booster's pedal shaft/rubber boot area (still way less work then the fox stuff)
F/R cobra brakes, SN95 master cylinder (same ford mount pattern).... works just fine

When I was looking for a replacement booster for my '68, oddly enough Autozone had the most correct booster than most Mustang places, and it was cheaper.

68stanger I already have disk brakes on my car factory. Is there any pedal difference or anything like that on power disk brake cars? The two extra inches doesn't seem so bad because like I said I kind of want the pedal to be higher than what it is now.
Wilit I did check Autozone and yes they do have the bendix and the other brand correct for my car. It's about 110 I think out the door. I still want to try the fox booster and see what happens. Trial n error I guess

There is a difference in pedals between the non-power and power. The pivot mount on a power pedal is higher than a non-power pedal. If you run a non-power pedal with a booster, you'll have too much leverage and the brakes will feel super touchy. You can see the difference in this pic.
Here's a good resource to know what pedals will work with what year cars and brake configs.
