I bought this car with a blown motor so i swapped the motor out and go the car running but I take off in first gear and I get on the car and the car revs up go into second gear and it makes a whine/ grind/ clunk when it goes into second gear and it picks up more speed in second and third gear.

Car has a stock motor with a aluminum driveshaft and 4.10s

Any input anyone

Check that the rubber hose on the fuel pump make sure didn't crack and your losing fuel pressure , this hose usually cracks if the car sat for along time with no fuel. Fuel injectors may be clogged, fuel filter might be clogged, air intake temp sensor could be bad, mass air flow sensor could be dirty, clogged fuel lines, bad pump, best thing for loss of power is to start by checking the fuel pressure . Per your notes you say it makes noise while shifting? Did you grease the pilot bearing, replace the throw out bearing? Here are a few thing to look for. When my 90 had power loss I completely cleaned the fuel system, and added all new parts.

Fox body?

If so do a KOER test (Key on engine running) first.

How is the pinion angle? What about condition of rear end and trans?
