So my brother in law has a 96 cobra and last night it started ticking under passenger side valve cover, feels like something is tapping underside of valve cover but after you let the car run for a minute the noise goes away. What could be causing this?

Flat lifter that isn't building pressure very fast/until warm since they are hydraulic. Pull the cover off and find out which one.
