I was thinking I should build a 306 since I got my heads, cam and intake. I was wondering if it is even worth going to a 306 and how much round about price to build a 306?

Nothing really special for 306 just a 30 over bore... Only advantage i see is different pistons for higher compression and bigger cam... With the stock pistons you're limited on cam unless you notch them or get different ones.

I took a 302 still with pistons crank and rods installed and got it turned into a 306 with forged pistons new freeze plugs new cam bearings etc....I paid like $1100 parts and labor. This was 2 months ago.
You will still need new gaskets all around ..new waterpump new hoses ...new alternator new starter if you want to do it right
