Was taking off in first got it up to about 5k and right before I shifted it went bang. It was pretty violent. Motor shut off on it's own and I coasted to a stop.
I plan to start tearing the front end apart today after work. I am posting pics to see what you all think? I am suspecting the damper came off the crank and took out the front cover.
Any input would help and I will keep you updated.

Crank snapped???

I am going to say it did. Broke main cap I think as a result of a broken crank.

Stated above, took off making a blind left, as I took off saw a car coming fast. Hit it up to about 5k and as I was about to shift it went bye bye. Update, entire front of the block is cracked. I will post pics soon.

How many miles...how much power did it put down

It was stock lower end besides a DSS main support and dynoed without a tune at 270 to the crank.
Edit: sorry bottom end was around 120k

Trust me, I am in absolute shock about the entire thing. Stock bottom end with the girdle had roughly 120k on it. All I have is bolt ons, HCI.

That sucks. That motor had problems for a while to break like that making as little power as it did.

Goes to show a girdle doesn't do anything except hold the block together when the engine grenades.

Damn that really sucks though. What do you have planned for it now

What are you going to do with the grenaded block? I plant grenaded engine blocks in my back yard.

Dam that sucks. But those engines are fairly easy to get and reasonably priced. Good Luck and sorry for the problem, That really sucks big time!!

That's crazy considering these motors can take a good beating!

Could the cause be from the harmonic balancer?

This is the EXACT same thing that happened to my motor last year. Crank snapped, pistons went, rods went, cracked block etc!

That is the only thing I can think off now that everything is apart.

Block cracked first. Happens all the time. Then the crank after from the block not holding the crank true. Notice how the crack goes all the way to the cam journal?

Did you ever figure out what was the cause for yours?

holy shit, an otherwise stock bottom end cracked like that? jesus.

This happened to me as well many years back. I was using a zex 125 shot, stock bottom end, and stock injectors. not sure what happened first, but i had a bent rod, split crank, and cracked block. Lesson learned here, when using a power adder, there is a wrong way, and right way. I went the half ass route and grenaded a motor.
