I just tried to install a BBK Catted X pipe on my car, but it is leaking both at the header collectors and the midpipe to catback connections. I know its leaking because it smells like fuel in the engine bay and I can feel exhaust leaking at the catback connections. It has a Borla catback. Any ideas as to why it won't seal?

You gotta tighten the bolts evenly all the way through. Make sure they are tight but not too tight because you will bend the flanges

Thanks! would you say that exhaust sealing paste is needed for the job? It seems like some people use it and others don't.

I only use Copper RTV when the headers are warped. No gaskets. That's just me.

Thick amount of copper RTV on the flanges. Let it sit for a day so that it can settle
