the horns on my 65 mustang are unreliable. turns out the spring loaded contacts are only barely contacting the ring, and sometimes not. when I short them to each other, I get horn. when I short the wire tabs to each other above the contact, I don't get horn. the contacts seem to be the right length, in fact they are slightly longer than the ones on the original which I took off. it like the steering wheel mounting thingy is not going down far enough, but it is bottomed out. I am at the point of thinking about shimming the turn signal switch up, but there is limited room or the turn signal stalk will start to rub on the column. anybody got any ideas? thanks.

Never mind. My brain just reset. I had the pedal mount rebuilt and I'll bet the steering column shroud shifted down, all I have to do is loosen the bolts and run it back up. Thanks anyway.
