I have a 1989 fox with a 306 block forge pistons fully build engine. I was thinking of using royal purple but idk if it would go good with the engine or what other type of engine oil can I use? Thanks

with cats

If you dont have cats and want to run a 10w30 this oil is a high zinc additive. Not good if you run cats, but great if you dont.

So is good to use synthetic oil instead of regular oil? Do they sell this oil at any auto parts store?

This conversation has been going on for years. WHAT OIL is BETTER. Fact is if your car has a ROLLER cam you do not need ZINC. The only other thing to consider is if the oils have all the chemicals for corrosion and VI enhancers. Other than that the viscosity is or flow rate of the oil is specific to climate and or if you have a DI modern engine. So living in a worm climate with an engine on the LOOSE side i would use 15W40 ROTELA. Those custom fancy oils are a waste of money. We use motorcycle oils in flat cam engines but if we build the engine we never use a flat cam. With a flat cam you must use a ZINC based oil. Remember the wider the spread of oil the more chemicals and less oil the product has.
