My brothers 96 GT 4.6 keeps overheating.

We have changed the radiator
Cleaned out the overflow

And we can not figure out why it keeps overheating.

On cool days it doesn't overheat GO FIGURE. lol

CAN SOMEONE HELP US OUT!!

96 gt and cobras are cursed with over heating issues, due the radiator and ac condessor in front of it. Are left over from 5.0 production. Id change the water pump and temp senors if you havent already. And make sure the system is burped right.

Mine got hot when it was the npi motor i replaced the water pump and temp senosor, no more problems. Also removed my ac

Replace the t stat...its easy right on top.. get a 170 if its stock

We tried changing to 170 and it still overheated. We dont know what else to try.

Do a leakdown test and make sure you are not getting a over pressurized cooling system due to a head gasket leak. This can happen without smoke from the exhaust.

what about the fan is it turning on?
