I'm going to attempt and swap a 2001 cobra engine into
My 1988 foxbody coupe. Was wondering If anyone has a
Write up on this. Mostly parts and info if anything
So far I've concluded I need.
K member -controls arms and spindles
5lug conversion and brake kit
Trans cross member
New 96+transmission
Hydro booster w/master cylinder I believe
95 SN proportioning valve
Fuel line from sending unit to rails(Flexible)
Wiring harness : engine/trans/o2sensors
Either fast stand alone or stock PCM

I have the engine already with engine harness
And alternator/water pump/power steering /AC

If anyone has done this swap please contact me

ModularFords is a good source for info on the swap. It's a lot of work, if you don't use the instrument cluster, PCM, and ignition out of the same vehicle you'll need to delete the PATS in the tune before you can start it.

You can also use the stock 4.6 K-member if you want to save some money, you'll have to elongate the holes where it bolts to the frame.

You will also need the newer gas tank, filler neck, and the straps will need to be extended.

There is a lot of little shit that you will run into throughout the build.

Hit up Sacstangdriver. He's been there. I remember helping him shoehorn that thing between the shock towers. When installed, looks sexy as hel!!
