I dont know what happened to our post with the heated intake debate we all had and what not but, you guys are gonna love this, I just seen a dyno pull (motor not chassis) and man the power they got out of using the EDELBROCK performer RPM AIR GAP, with a 1 inch spacer on a HCI 302 was great. It had the same top end as the victor jr, with the area under the curve of the air gap.

So, I say keep your air gap intakes but add a one inch spacer and BURN RUBBER!!!

Thanks for the info Dan. Once I get a new hood, I'll be putting my spacer back on. [patriot]

GREEN MACHINE? Who is that? [Wink]

I think carb intakes flow alot better than F.I intakes bcz the air has less to travel in them since they are smalle an dont have an upper portion of manifold. I like the f.i. air gap intakes like the spider intake manifold w/elbow, they are beast on a large bore stroker.

You shouldn't run a regular spacer tho. Make sure it has a bottle attached to it [Wink] Makes even more power with one of those spacers.

Turbo 50 i got a lot more respect for you now, did not expect you to post this up consdering you were disagreeing with me about me choosing the air gap and you choosing the victor. Now that you seen it on real life and i dont think their will be anymore disagreeing on the air gap with a 302.This in no way is a 1 up, just paying my respect to you. Green machine have fun with your ride dude, and like me and dan said just get the new matching cam with matching valve springs.

Well this cam had 248 degrees of duration at 50 and the victor jr outperformed the performer rpm until they put that one inch spacer on. After that the air gap outperformed and you got the area under the curve.

Do you think this would be the same with a 351w?
