Heard a mixed amount of info on this. Stock block with e303, tf twisted wedge heads, 1.7 rockers. Should be fine??

Ttt?

Yeah it's possible but you always want to check P to V clearance. I installed some 1.7's with a N-41 and a F cam both of those engines were using TFS heads.

Has there been any issues with this setup before?

sorry for the double post but I also heard I will need to have it tuned? I just put on a e303, tf heads, 1.7, 24# with matching MAF

would simply disconnecting the battery relearn the computer to the new specs?

Not on the engines I've installed them on. Even though I'm sure it'll work I always check P to V, better safe then sorry.

On a H/C/I car I've never tuned them. Just set fuel pressure, timing, relearn idle, set TPS voltage and they always seemed to run fine.

I was told that the 24# wont need the pressure regulator???

Thank you very much for the quick responses!!!

I always ran a FPR, you can probably get away without one.

My brother has a tf cam. I didn't feel a difference in power from him switching from e303 to tf

everything greasy said is dead on, i personally think checking the vavle clearance is maybe over board, but should never be recommended to be over looked.

+1 no real difference... Now if you go with a custom can there you will get a little more.

When I had my TW head, e303 installed I also wanted to use 1.7 on my 91 GT , but the engine builder said that the 1.7 would not clear. So I went with 1.6 instead. But like everyone has said check the valve to piston clearance.

Thays because he wanted to clear with the minimum specs. Lot of guys don't check and it works so they run it. Problem is they never run like they could and a few times over revvin or with a power adder and kaboom.......that is often blamed on somethin else.

PTV clearance is such a basic and easy check, why wouldn't u?

Thank you everyone with the replies!!!

I called a shop and they said they have built my setup multiple times. As 50 said, and the shop, people are either lazy or taking it safe. He also advised me to check the clearance
