Driving home from work in my Jeep its a steep decline so i normally let all my vehicles coast in gear down at some points i do give it gas to keep it on the speed limit for another mile or so. When it was coasting it was completely normal but when i touched the gas it started missing/running so rough i didn't think i was going to make it home. The problem went away after another mile of coasting. Anyone have an idea on what this could have been? 92 5.0L. I am thinking it was the EGR, i've had nothing but problems with the EGR on this engine.

I thought of that but the fuel filter probably doesn't have 5,000 miles on it and it is a brand new tank of gas. It almost died on me while i was 4wheeling a week before this incident. So far i haven't had any issues since.
I ran the codes when i got home and there was none so i don't know what it is thats making it run funny.

I had a similar problem on my 302 the other day. Turned out to be loose spark plugs. Worth a check at least

This, might want to check ignition Dana. Had a similar problem on my DD and it turned out to be the ignition switch. Has it shut off then turned on again a few minutes later?

No it hasn't done that.
My distributor is brand new MSD, less than 10,000 miles.

MSD distributors are garbage! If you can't figure it out, try swapping to a stock distributor.
