2001 gt with a stock 4.6 it has a ticking noise to me that sounds like its coming from the front of the motor maybe valence cover area. I was thinking it sounded like a sloppy timing chain but really do t mess with 4.6 any ideas.

It really depends what that "tick" sounds like. it could be a rod knock or lifter tick or timing chain guides/tensioner worn down. Make a video and post it up. Rod knocks have distinct sounds and the 2v is notorious for them

my guess would be timing chain guides are done since you say its coming from the front of engine
