The battery light is on on my 02 GT changed the battery and the alternator but light is still on. Does anyone know why?

Nothing wrong with the old battery. It's the alternator.

I would say it's the alternator... [patriot]

I already changed the alternator. Could it have to do with the starter that needs to be changed next.

no. there needs to be power on the sensing circut leading to the alternator. if there is no power there the alternator wont go into field. also there is a fuse for the battery warning lamp. if its blown the lamp will remain iluminated. starter has nothing to do with that.

Loose connections? Bad wires? Faulty alternator?

Gonna take the alternator and the battery in to get checked.

i had this problem it's an issue with the 02-04 gt i had a check engine light and battery light it was throwing a cam sensor code al lthis was due to a faulty alternator.Theres a possibility u may have gotten a bad alternator replace it again.Spend the extra money and get a pa performance 130 amp lifetime warranty.

rfi on this problem. ac compressors can cause similar symptoms. (unrelated to his problem but little known fact)

check for resistance between the posative battery post and the large hot lead on the alternator. there should be little to no resistance there, other than that have the alternator checked if its good check the power for the genMON circut. pm me if you get lost and i can look it up for u real quick while im at work. also fyi those stupid aftermakret alternators tend to overcharge batteries. seems like every time i see a swolen battery there is a kragen or autozone alternator sitting right on top of the motor.

Just swapped the alternator and battery again the battery light is still flashing once in a while seems like when I accelerate it comes on but no engine light. Was told it could be a bad ground maybe starter ground is this possible?

Where is the genmon circuit located?

Lol,... Have you checked all your battery ground wire to make sure its grounded efficiently ?

Seems like the only time the battery light comes on now is when I accelerate.

ok. in the central junction box (the fuse box inside the car under the dash).. fuse 5 is a 15 amp fuse. its prob good but this is the fuse that powers your battery lamp.. in the battery junction box ( fuse box in the engine compartment ) fuse 1 is 20 amp. this is your genmon line. make sure that fuse is good. then off the large black with orange wire off the alternator there are two grey fuseable links. make sure they are both good. with the key on and engine off you should see power on the yellow with white. its a very simple non monotored charging system. you need a ohm meter though to test the fuseable links. i have a feeling this could be your problem

So I found the problem the ground for the wire harness of the starter, alternator, and battery was loose tightened it down and it's all good now thank god. Thank you to everyone that helped I appreciate it.
