SO MY CARS SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT JUST WENT ON. I HOOKED A SCANNER TO THE CAR SYSTEM AND A 306 & 316 CODE APPEARED. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THESE CODES MEAN?
ARE THEY BAD NEWS?

thats the correct code. do i have to get it fixed immediately? does anyone know if this is a bad sign?

yes its a missfire get it fixed asap! its probably your coils..im sure there is a way to test them look on google or mabye some one can tell you how...how many miles are on the car? mabye its time for new coils and plugs

P0306 Code - Cylinder #6 Misfire
Technical DescriptionCylinder #6 Misfire Detected

What does that mean?A P0306 code means that the the car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing properly. In this case it's cylinder #6.

SymptomsSymptoms may include:
the engine may be harder to start
the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
other symptoms may also be present
CausesA code P0306 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

Faulty spark plug or wire
Faulty coil (pack)
Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector
Burned exhaust valve
Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Running out of fuel
Poor compression
Defective computer

To test the coil, take it off the bad cylinder and put it on a good one then pull codes again.

Have you pressure washed your motor recently? Some times water can get down there and cause a mis fire. Get a good coil throw it on #6 and see what happens
