got every thing changed over but car wont start

Here is every thing used

97cobra motor/trans, ecu, engine harness, gauge cluster. seems its hanging up on the pats anyone have a work around for this or any help cars my DD.

also only have 1 of my gt keys programmed

ive seen online where others have done this swap using the gt harness and ecm. which will require the irmc to be deleted which they are already deleted. has anyone had to go this route? how does the car run because getting a tune is a few paychecks out

I did the swap with the imrc delete and it ran fine. Yes ur PATS system is tripping, use the stock ECU.

Did you use the gt harness or the cobra?

I re-used GT harness and PCM, IMRC delete.

It has ran perfect for 4 almost 5 years now I think, almost 30k miles on it, was my daily driver to work for 3 years.

I drove the car for about 2 months before getting it tuned, it ran a bit rich because of the 24lb injectors with the stock tune setup for 19's. It ran fine, but did jump from ~250rwhp to ~290rwhp with the tune.

Just wondering how much do tunes cost ? Do I need a handheld tuner? Dyno tune over handheld correct? And last question where / who does tunes around the bay?

if the theft light is flashing while doing that it's the PATS, it will never start with your original GT key + ignition tumbler/PATS ring + replacement cobra PCM.

unless you tow it to a dealer, they can add your key to the PCM's PATS memory.

I think the cluster also needs to be the GT one, I still have my stock GT cluster.

so its sitting with all the gt wairing harness ecu andcluster and still getting PATS is there away that we could have erased the key from the ecu?

I don't think so, when you switched everything from cobra to gt did you have the battery disconnected?

Blind~ I'm not sure wasn't there when swapped out but I'm sure the battery was dissconnected. By chance what would happen if ecu waspulled while hooked up to the battery still?

pulling isn't really the issue, it's installing it again while the battery is hooked up.

that would fry the ECU.

battery was disconnected the whole time while ecu was changed.

cluster ecu and harness all need to be ither cobra or gt. if its turning over but no spark double check the crank sensor isint damaged and is pluged in. and anytime u have mismatched meaning a ecu from one car and cluster from another keys NEED to be programed. u will need two keys to program. pats modgule is a stand alone modgule located above the fuse box. and both the ecu and pats modgule need to be networked together. im not posative but i think the gateway modgule is the instrument cluster as well.
