Just picked up a set of gt40 iron heads. I would like to know if I need pedestal roller rockers or can I just install studs and use stud mounted rockers. any help would be grate

Studs come in 3/8 or 7/16 inch threads, pedestal bolts are 5/16 inch. I believe Crane cams has a retrofit kit with a 5/16 lower thread to mount in the head and a 3/8 stud for the rocker.
It's part number 36655-16 and summit has it for $120. You also need to make sure you have hardened pushrods too when you convert to guideplates.
