Ordered a pacesetter h pipe last week and when it came in the mail today I ended up getting a x pipe. Before I sent it back, Wanted to ask everyones opinion. If I keep it or send it back, nothing will be affected no charge or anything. My question, I was following a guys build on MF. He ended up going H pipe over X for torque reasons. I have an 03 mach 1 and will soon be ordering a catback to go along with this. Should I keep X pipe or send it back for the H? Whats the true performance difference?

the true performance difference is nothing you will notice other than the sound.

X was too raspy on my DOHC personally, it sounded like something was wrong when it got up over 3k, I prefer the sound of an H on a DOHC.

I totally hear you there. I'm not a fan of the "raspy" sound on these cars, but if the X would benefit me somehow I'd keep it.

I agree 100%. My Mach 1 with long tubes sounded WAY better & deeper with an H pipe over an X....

Same setup, but with a UPR off road X pipe instead... I preferred the H pipe personally.
