I'm getting ready to replace my seized up door actuators on my 93 GT. Already did some research & it looks fairly easy. I was just wondering if anybody has any tips and/or tricks for the process? Also, since the door cavity is exposed I'm thinking it is a good idea to lube up the window mechanisms w/ grease.. Would white lithium grease be best or is there anything better out there? Anything else to look out for in that door cavity area? & how about the outside door handle? Are the rivets drilled out from inside the cavity or on the outside of the car under the handle? Any info would help & be much appreciated.. Thanks guys!

Vacuum out the bottom of the door, make sure the drainage holes are clear. White lithium grease will work, be sure to stay clear of the black felt guides inside or you will have streak marks every time you roll the window up. Only replace the outer door handles if you have to. The rivets drill out from the outside.

To replace the actuator, you'll need to use the 1/4" rivets....not your normal standard rivets and not your normal standard rivet gun. Just saw a post about replacing door handles and you'll need the same rivet gun...unless you use bolts, but rivets are better.
Yes, drill out the existing rivet from the outside part of the door. My actuator didn't come out easily after I drilled out the rivet because it was frozen up, so I had to cut the small bar at the top of the actuator to get it out (the bar attached to the actuator). You'll see. Hopefully you won't have to do that.

Alright. Sounds good. I might have to cut that bar on the actuator because I think it's seized up pretty well but we will see. How did you cut it? Doesnt the lil rod have somewhat of a good enough thickness to get anything heavy duty enough in the cavity to cut it?

I cut it using a cordless dremel with a cutting bit.
