I am putting a 94 5.0 HO motor in my 61 falcon with a c4 tranny. the problem is that the flexplate for the 94 is for an AODE tranny. It has steps on it that make it stick out from the motor about 1 1/2 but there are only about a 1/2 inch of room. should i be using a flat flexplate out of something earler such as a 70 or so ford.
thank you for your time and energy.

Yes, a safe bet woud be to buy a 50oz. Plate for c4. There cheap from summit racing.
B&m 50339 - 157 tooth
B&m 50338- 164 tooth
There is a few cheaper ones those are just examples, roughly 80.00 each and sfi approved
