When Im coming to a stop" while still in gear" my 86 will start to backfire really bad. Let me be more specific. When I start my car the idle will sometimes go up really high. But when the rpm's go back down really low, between 550-650 that's when it starts to back fire. It started doing this when I added my gt40p with a 75mm tb. Could it be my iac,maf or my timing. LMK thanks.

most likely a bad vacuum leak, check the pvc to start with.

It does this when it gets to operating temp.

Maybe retarded timing? Vacuum leak? Try some sea foam maybe carbon sticking valves open and use good gas like techron 89 at least and drive it out

check your firing order/timing.
when i got my car it will do that after the rpms drop when i started it. my firing order was mixed up on cyl. 3 and 4.

Check the map sensor, if it goes bad on a sd car its will run horrible everywhere but wide open.
