SO I HAVE AN 1989 5.0 RECENTLY ITS BEEN ACTING UP. IN THE MORNING ITS STARTS FINE BUT ONCE I GET TO WORK AND TRY TO START IT IT WILL CRANK TILL THE BATTERY GOES DEAD. ONCE IT COOLS DOWN ITS STARTS RIGHT UP AGAIN. I CHANGED WIRES SPARK PLUGS CHANGED BATTERY AND ALSO CHECKED STARTER AND STILL NOTHING. ANY IDEAS WHAT IT MIGHT BE??????

car must be running super hot. most batteries cant operate at high temps. i had this problem saturday after my water pump blew. check your cooling system for defect.... and if it doesnt start pop the hood see if its hella hot like i said.

It will be either the TFI Module or the Ignitor in the distributor. Get a good used Distributor and your problem will go away!!!

I would just spend the money on a decent rebuilt or fix it yourself..... but ya
