Im picking up a motor for real cheap. Its a Chevy Vortek 5.3 liter with the auto tranny. I just wanted to see if anybody has ever did a motor swap into a foxbody? I have a few questions and just wanted to see if anyone can help me out with some answers and some advice.

Im picking up the engine for 300 with trans, I always wanted to put a carb 350 or ls1 in a fox. a 5.3L is close enough so why not.

but a 5.3 is like only 310 or 316ci doesnt sound like much of a gain for all the trouble

It's 325ci. Depending on the year and what it came out of, it could be 270hp or 330hp or something in between.

Before committing to it, you might want to make sure you know exactly what you're buying.

it's been done, same parts/work needed to do it as an ls1 swap, just heavier and less power out of the box. Easy to make power with bolt ons though.
