It's an SROD. It's a 3 speed + overdrive. Here's a website about them.

Transmission is a SROD (single rail over drive)
Came in 79-early 83 Mustangs

The SROD came in Mustangs from like '79-'83. They also came in trucks and had different gear ratios. It is essentially a toploader with a different set of ratios.

i only seen one before and forgot how it looked whole, i remember when i got it , i never had a 5 speed to tell the difference , and i was like i got one!!!! to my disappointment later lol
